Katherine A. (Kennedy) Hamilton, 86, of Gnadenhutten died on Friday afternoon of August 18, 2023, in the Community Hospice Truman House.

She was born on December 16, 1936, at her grandmother’s house in Dennison, Ohio to the late Burton F. and V. Gene (Probert) Kennedy. Katherine graduated from Uhrichsville High School and married the late Kenneth Hamilton on October 31, 1953. They spent 67 years together before his death on March 10, 2021. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Hawk, Dr. Ley, and Dr. Peck, and after twenty-nine years, she retired in 2006.

Katherine was very active in the community, serving as troop leader for the Girl Scouts, President of the Indian Valley South Band Boosters, President of the Uhrichsville Ladies, and belonged to several card clubs. She enjoyed swimming and gave swimming lessons. Most of all though, Katherine enjoyed traveling the world. Visiting places such as Ireland, Scotland, Greece, Turkey, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and multiple trips to St. John.

Surviving are her three children: Christie Cochran of New Castle, Scott (Violet Vickers) Hamilton and Terry Hamilton, both of Uhrichsville; eight grandchildren: Jesse (Heather) Cochran, Kelly (James) Ferenbaugh, Heather Baylor, Nathan (Amy Emmert) Hamilton, Adam Hamilton, Aaron (Meghan) Hamilton, Bryan Fisher, and Allen Fisher; eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Katherine is preceded by a sister Linda Gene Pfister, a son-in-law Joel Cochran, and a daughter-in-law Chris Hamilton.

Private graveside services for Katherine will be held at the Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
