Katherine M. Raber, 79, of Dundee, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Akron General Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Mobile, Alabama on August 28, 1943, to the late Melvin T and Ruby (Buckalew) Turner and married Jonas J. Raber on April 16, 1960. He survives.
She worked as a state meat inspector for 25 years and was a member of The Church of New Hope in Dover. She loved to cook for her family and have many family gatherings. She was an avid reader, liked to collect cookbooks and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years; her two daughters, Diana Owens of Dover and Linda (David) Widder of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Joey Owens, Jacklyn Widder, Holly Rivera, Brooke Widder, and Kristopher Hendershot; and six great grandchildren, Keegan Widder, Zoe Devore, Kingsley Devore, Preslee Rivera, Owens Rivera, and Juliet Rivera.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Kathy Hendershot and son-in-law Bruce Owens.
In keeping with Katherine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private burial in Dundee Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
