Kathryn “Kat” Jo Harding, 66, of West Lafayette, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. She was born February 6, 1959, in Dover, to the late Dale Menefee and Shirley (Boitnott) Lorenz.
Kat had a career as a cook. She enjoyed planting her garden and flowers, living off the land, berry and wildflower picking. She loved cooking and baking, spending time with her grandchildren, crafting, yard sailing, and thrift shopping.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Johnny Harding of Dover, Casey Harding of New Philadelphia, Kyle (Amber) Vaughn of Dover, Travis (Missy) Harding of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph, Kodey, Morgan, Anthony, Terry, Anna, Lucas, Ariana, Alivia, Harmony, and Raelynn; great-grandchildren, Zane, Chance, Ryker, Axton, Joe, Carson, Bexlee, Briella, Ellianna, Madalyn; siblings, Debra Lorenz and Lori Mathias of West Lafayette; many nieces and nephews; and best friend of 30 years, Jamie Nicewander. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Lorenz; and daughter-in-law, Crystal Harding.
Kat was full of life, strong-willed, and very stubborn-headed. She was a great mother, sister, grandma, and aunt. She loved her family, spending time outside, her garden and her flowers. She was a fighter and put up one heck of a fight till the very end.
