Join us in celebrating the beautiful life of Kathryn “Katie” Louise Haas (née Clauser), aged 88, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on July 10, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born on August 31, 1935, in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Clauser and Esther Bertolini-Clauser, a lifelong Twin City resident, and an integral part of her community.

Katie was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary’s School in Dennison, Ohio, and she remained an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison throughout her life. She married Alvin “Bimbo” Haas Jr. on June 5, 1954, who preceded her in death on April 3, 2017. Katie’s other relatives that lovingly welcomed her to Heaven include her brothers, Joey Clauser and Lester Aldergate; her sister, Gloria Saggio; her brother-in-law Lou Saggio; her sister-in-law, Sue Clauser; and many more loved ones who have passed, including her parents.

She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Teena and Ed Fondriest of Uhrichsville, Ohio, and grandchildren, Amber Daiello and her husband Eddi of Marblehead, Ohio and Eddie Fondriest and his wife Hope of Canton, Ohio. Katie was also a proud great-grandmother to Brett, Briana, Mackenzie, Eddie, Addison, and Eddi. Her sisters-in law, Thelma Aldergate and Joan DeVore, special niece, Lori Clauser, and numerous nieces and nephews survive her, as well. Her special companion cat, Miley, will have continued loving care by her daughter, Teena.

Katie’s life was marked by her joyous spirit and her love for gathering with friends, especially at Pangrazio’s in Dennison and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center in Uhrichsville. She enjoyed shopping and cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Katie will be joyfully remembered as young at heart. If you asked her age, she would respond without hesitation, “I’m 39!”, with the biggest smile. Knowing that Katie will find the largest shopping mall in Heaven – where she will continue on, filled with eternal happiness, love, and joy – brings us peace and comfort. May she be forever 39.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation and burial will take place along with a private graveside service at St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Her family suggests that contributions in Katie’s memory be made to the Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, Ohio. A gathering of family and friends for a Celebration of Life will be held at The Kitchen by Pangrazio’s, 217 Grant St., Dennison, from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio, is assisting the family during this time.

Katie’s warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched. She will always be our diamond in the sky.
