Kathy Jean (Affolter) Menefee, 73, of Port Washington, died Saturday morning July 22, 2023, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of the area, Kathy was born in Dennison on June 17, 1950, to the late Elmer Jr. and Neva Jean “Teny” (Page) Affolter. She graduated from Claymont High School and then married the late Willard Menefee on June 21, 1968. They spent fifty-two years together before his death on December 24, 2019.
Also preceding her in death are her siblings Angel, Jill, Libby, Richard, Bill, John, and Jeep.
Surviving are five sons: David (Misty) Menefee and Jeffrey Menefee of Port Washington, Marvin (Julie) Menefee, Kit (Linda Monroe) Menefee and Marty (Kim) Menefee of Gnadenhutten; five grandchildren: Quena (Greg) Brown, Baily Menefee, Regan Menefee, Alexie Menefee, and Haylie Menefee; one great-granddaughter Aryana Wallace, and siblings: Tena (Jim) West, Barb (Bob) Colvin, Karen (Steve) Morris, Pink (Carl) Hoop, Becky Bennington, Bob (Donna) Affolter, Ben (Julie) Affolter and Jimbo Affolter.
Kathy worked for 31 Inc. in Newcomerstown for 28 years before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, going to the casino, taking trips to the beach, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Following Kathy’s wishes she will be cremated. A time for visitation with her family will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and a Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 P.M. officiated by Pastor Paul Harvey.
