Kathy Marie Fruchey, 69, of Dover, passed away suddenly on November 17, 2025, on her birthday. Born November 17, 1956, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Marie (Winkler) Lawver.
Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Dover High School. On April 30, 1993, she married Paul Rodney “Rod” Fruchey, who passed away on January 17, 2011. She and Paul enjoyed traveling, and they shared many years of love, laughter, and friendship.
A gifted and passionate musician, Kathy’s talent shone brightly through her guitar and accordion playing. She shared her music with joy as a longtime member of Roselyn’s Band, bringing smiles and spirited energy to countless events and gatherings. She was a member of the Dover Marching Tornadoes and marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade and two Indy 500 Parades.
Kathy worked for Huntington Bank, formerly Reeve’s, in Dover for over 36 years, where she formed many lasting friendships. She also spent time serving the community as a teller with Huntington Bank and Commercial Savings in Holmes County. Most recently, she dedicated her time to helping students as a substitute aide for the Tuscarawas County Board of DD and Dover City Schools—a role she cherished deeply.
She attended Holmes Church. She enjoyed getting together with her family and friends, who were very dear to her. Kathy will be remembered for her warm heart, her creativity, and the gentle kindness she offered to everyone she met. Her love for music, her family, and her community leaves a lasting legacy.
She leaves behind her stepson, Kevin (Laurie) Fruchey; brothers-in-law, Dick (Sandy) Fruchey and Ron (Bonnie) Workman; her closest friend, Brenda Frey; family; aunts and uncles; many cousins; and her beloved dog, Margo.
A memorial service will be held at Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Roger Warnes officiating. Arrangements are being handled through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.
