Keith Allen Howdershelt, 52, of Newcomerstown, previously of Steubenville, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born on June 12, 1971, in Wheeling, WV to Ray Clinton Howdershelt of Bushnell, FL and the late Sharon Kay (McCrobie) Howdershelt.
Keith drove truck for over 20 years as a career, but it was also his passion. His dad, Ray, taught him how to drive truck close to 30 years ago, and Keith has carried that on by teaching his son and others how to drive at a young age. He loved kayaking and taking his kids fishing and camping. He was a great mechanic, very creative and inventive, and was a great provider.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Janie K. Jones and her husband Kenny Jones; his sons, Keith A. Howdershelt, Jr., Kurtis A. Howdershelt; his daughter, Kearstin A. Howdershelt; his step-sons, Tanner and Dustin Talbert; grandaughter, Rayleigh Howdershelt; a niece, Jennifer Hilliard; mother of his two youngest children, April Howdershelt. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray C. Grimm.
Keith was a great person who would help anyone and everyone, giving the shirt off his back if needed. His family is devastated that he was dealing with a mental illness that was sadly not fixable. He was an amazing father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather to Rayleigh. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
