Kenneth Burris, 78, of Walnut Creek and formerly of Bolivar, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg.
Ken was born in Dover on November 23, 1945, to the late Paul K. and Audrey A. (Lebold) Burris and married Connie Mizer on July 20, 1969. She survives.
He grew up in Bolivar on a beef and grain farm. He went on to attend Michigan State, where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree from the farm equipment sales and service program. Upon Graduation, he was awarded the outstanding student award from Michigan State and was an avid sports fan, especially loving his Michigan State Spartans.
He worked at the former Horrisberger Implements in Walnut Creek and then Mast Sales and Service where he worked as the parts manager until his retirement. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bolivar and operated the sound system for many years. After moving from the Bolivar area he began attending NewPointe in Dover. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and enjoyed gardening and photography.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Steven K. (Jennifer) Burris of Sugarcreek; daughter Joy D. (Joel) Russell of Canton, and his sister Kathryn M. (Mark) Glasbrenner of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father Charles Lawrence; brother, Robert “Bob” (Cyndy) Burris and nephew Greg Burris.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes cremation will take place. Additionally, no calling hours and no memorial service will take place.
