Kenneth H. Faber, 94, of Hartville and New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023, at The Gardens at Liberty Park in Streetsboro.
Born December 31, 1928, in Akron, O., he was the son of the late Forris Ernest and Catharine Marie (Sausaman) Faber.
From 1951 to 1953, Kenny honorably served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Japan as a med tech.
After graduating from Uniontown High School in 1948, he became a professional truck driver with several companies and was a member of the Teamsters 93.
Kenny was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and was a passionate model train collector. He proudly wore his t-shirt that said, “I still play with trains”.
Additionally, Kenny gave much of his time helping his neighbors shovel snow and mow their grass with his beloved Wheel Horse red tractor.
He is survived by his son, Steven (Judy Lewis) Faber; daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Davis, Patricia (Robert) Stoner, Pamela Alta (David) Mizler; grandchildren, Stacy (Mark) Lucas, Shari (Andy) Smith, Mark Christopher Davis, Robert Cory Davis, Victoria Nicole Davis, Misty (Richard) Edwards, Jeremy Butz, Mindy Elaine Butz, Lindsey (Blayk) Coleson, Ian Jones; great-grandchildren, Damian Centeno, Conner Lucas, Helena Centeno, Brittany (Jason) Talbot, Brook-lynn and Evelyn Davis, Jasmin and Ryan Davis, Carmilla, Raejena, Richard Jr, and Ray Charles Edwards, and TJ and Alexis Butz; great-great-grandsons, Mark Christian Talbot, Reddington Talbot, Jason Talbot, Jr, and Tristan Cutlip, Jr. Companion, Mrs. “Dot” Cassell; and his sister, Karolyn (Jim) Simon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia in 2004; the mother of his children, Janice Parsons; life-long friend, Jean Dennison; and his great-granddaughter, Rianna Edwards.
Inurnment will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery at Jewett. A public memorial service will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on October 7 beginning at 11:30 a.m. An ice cream social will follow the service in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home.
