Kenneth Jay Trimmer, 74, a lifelong Dennison, Ohio resident, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare Truman House in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Born June 24, 1950 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Charles Eugene and Ruth Joan (Thompson) Trimmer.
Kenny was a 1968 graduate of Claymont High School and was a proud Mustang throughout his life. He served his alma mater on the Claymont School Board for twenty years. After his father’s passing in 1975, Kenny took over his role on the sideline “chain gang” and worked every home game until 2022. In the 1970s, he played semi-pro football alongside his brothers, Mike and Denny, for the Tuscarawas County Vikings and had twice been named “Mr. Viking”. Kenny was also an avid fan of the Cleveland professional sports teams and the OSU Buckeyes. For over 35 years, Kenny was a respected sales representative in radiology sales. He was known for his helpful attitude and mentoring many in the field.
On July 10, 1980, Kenny married the love of his life – the former JoAnn Chek who survives him at their home. He is also survived by a son, Cody (Kristin) Trimmer; grandsons, Alec and Luke Trimmer; his brothers, Dennis “Denny” (Sherry) Trimmer – his twin – and Mike (Marla) Trimmer; nieces and nephews, Denny Jr., Dennielle, Matt, Dane “Spike”, Evan, and Reagan; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a large extended family, including a number of cousins, as well as a host of dear friends.
Pastor Dave Bryan will officiate an 11:00 a.m. funeral on Monday, November 4, at Park Christian Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Park Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring Kenny’s memory may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
