The republican incumbent for Ohio’s 31st senate district will remain for another term.
Al Landis led the way with 64% of the votes against democrat Laura Sirot.
Landis thanked the voters in Tuscarawas, Muskingum, Wayne, and part of Stark and Guernsey counties.
“I try to keep my finger on the pulse of the entire district. It just feels good to win in five counties, it just feels good.”
Landis is grateful that district voters have confidence in his ability to once again represent the area for another four years.
“I watch statewide issues to see how the district is voting and I try to keep my finger on the pulse. You’re listening to the people cause this job is about people.”
Landis says going back to the senate his priorities will include energy independence, job growth, awareness surrounding mental health, and curbing illicit drugs coming into the area.
