The Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market will be celebrating Hispanic and Mayan heritage in our community this week.

Volunteer Mark McKenzie says the market is holding its fourth annual Latino Heritage Day Wednesday.

The cooking demonstration at 5 pm at the Clover Cafe will feature chuchitos – a type of tamale using masa corn dough. Several women will also be there demonstrating how they make their traditional colorful blouses through backstrap loom-weaving.

It’s all going on from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds.
