Families of three of the people killed in the Tusky Valley Charter Bus chain crash, near Columbus last November, filed wrongful death lawsuits.

Defendants include the trucking company and the dealership that sold the truck blamed for causing the accident as well as its driver.

The lawsuits were filed in Franklin County Common Pleas by attorney’s representing the families of students John Mosley and Katelyn Ownes, and parent-chaperone Shannon Wigfield.

They accuse the 2019 mid-state system semi-truck of not being properly equipped with crash prevention safety features and the driver, Jacob McDonald, of negligence, along with other named. The defendants have denied responsibility.

A trial is tentatively scheduled for next year.
