Lena B. (Couts) Barthalow, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in Trinity Medical Center West following a brief illness. She was born August 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Velma (Stewart) Couts.
She is survived by her children Michael and Dolores Barthalow, Julie Moore and companion Doug Cochran, and Jane and Ron Hickman; her grandchildren Matthew and Meghan Carmody Barthalow, Alison Barthalow, Rachel and Samuel Kirker; great-grandchildren Luke, Kit, Cece, and Maddie Barthalow; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Barthalow who passed away February 15, 2005; a son, Ronald; two sisters, Betty Wolff and Mary Lawver.
Lena will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and being surrounded by family.
