Lenita Jean Henry, age 91, passed into her heavenly home on the morning of October 3, 2023 with her daughter by her side.
She was born May 14, 1932, in Hacker Valley, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Orville Hobson and Sarah Elizabeth (Anderson) Conrad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children’s father, Robert M. Henry, whom she had wed on October 18, 1953, two brothers Orville M. Conrad and Eugene Conrad, sister Bernice Caldwell, and an infant sister Leona Conrad.
She was a 1950 graduate of the former Sherrodsville High School. She retired in 1994 from Amerigas Propane in Canton, OH after 14 years of service. Prior to that, she was employed at Huebner Chevrolet in Carrollton.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Tamara Bryan of Carrollton, OH, grandson Neil McLean and his partner Clea and his son Dylan of Dalton, OH, granddaughter Angela and Brad Salisbury and their children Briella and Isaiah, of Carrollton, grandson Michael and Angie Bryan and their children Lane and Andrew of North Canton, OH. Also surviving are her son, Robert A. and Kay Henry of Lakeland, Florida and grandson Stephen Henry and his partner Jessica and her children Xavier and Victoria, granddaughter Caitlin and Ryan Webb, and their children Emily, Hayley, and Luke, all of Lakeland Florida, and her sister, Melbalene Belknap of Sherrodsville, OH.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 6, 2023, in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Cheryl Mallernee officiating. Interment will follow in the Leavittsville Cemetery. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
