Leslie Carol Thomas McNeil – November 29, 2022. The omnipotent and Almighty God of the universe allowed the birth of Leslie Carol Thomas on August 16th, 1947. Leslie was born the second child to the union of Leotha Thomas and Mabel Hightower-Thomas in Mckees Rocks, Pa.

From her childhood to early adulthood Leslie attended The Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church in the Chartiers City neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Leslie graduated from Langley High School in 1965 and after graduation landed employment with The Prudential Life Insurance Co. in Pittsburgh. After 32 years of service with the company, she retired in 1997.

Leslie had always been deeply, earnestly, and faithfully focused on her love and commitment to The Almighty God. Her order of life was God first, then family and friends.

Leslie’s forte was dressing, cooking, and making whoever she was around as comfortable as possible. These traits she directly inherited from her mother.

On July 26th, 1975 Leslie entered into holy matrimony with Henry McNeil, who became Revered Henry McNeil. Their lives together as a union were 47 years. They have 2 wonderful daughters, Nicole and Nicene. Nicole has 2 children, Niya and Noble. Leslie’s main topic of conversation was very often her kids and grandkids. Leslie was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, but her number one team was the Kansas City Chiefs. Why the Chiefs? Because she swore up and down that the Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, looks so much like her grandson Noble. She had no problem with traveling from Ohio, to Pennsylvania, to Florida, to the Maryland/D.C. area, or any other state to visit or spend time with relatives or friends, even during her illness.

After a battle with a long-term illness, The Almighty God our Father summoned Leslie to come home on November 29th, which happens to be the birthdate of Janice, the youngest of the siblings.

Leslie will be greatly missed and was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine in 2021, her brother Bruce in 2022, her brother Glenn in 2008, her mother in 2004, and her father in 2003.

Leslie is survived by her husband Reverend Henry McNeil, her oldest daughter, Nicole (Donnie), her daughter Nicene, her grandchildren Niya and Noble, her sister Janice, her brother Leo (Judy), an Aunt Edna (Tiny) Thomas and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends.

Funeral services for Leslie will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, December 9, 2022, at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dennison.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the church.

Burial will take place at 11 a.m., on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Chartiers Cemetery in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
