Lillian “Sue” Laizure, age 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022, in New Philadelphia’s Community Hospice Truman House.
Born January 25, 1946, in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Hodkinson Huebner. Sue graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1964, and later, on June 18, 1992, married Kenneth “Ken” Laizure, who survives. She operated her own home child care business for many years.
Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a consummate caregiver. She found her joy in looking after others no matter what their age.
In addition to her husband, Ken, Sue is survived by the couple’s blended family, which includes 12 children, Anita Gal and Erik Brown, both of New Philadelphia, Tanja Contini of Medina, Hiedi (Danny) Billiter of Dover, Crystal Miller of North Canton, Adrienne (Robert) Wickham of Tuscarawas, Michael and Barry Laizure and Sandy (Ross) Page, all of Uhrichsville, Steve Laizure, Denise (Steve) Dulaney, and Shirley (Michael) Weaver, all of Dover; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; Sue’s sisters, Judith (Charles) Laizure and Rose (Joe) Kerschbaumer; and her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey Bates; her sister, Patty Lowery; and her brother, James Huebner.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Monday, June 27, 5 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor Dode Overton officiating.
