Linda Lou Miller, age 76, of Dover, Ohio, a former New Philadelphia resident, died Saturday afternoon, November 4, 2023, in her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born November 9, 1946, in Flintstone, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Cecil Fred and Nina Margaret (Imes) Strawser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Lewis, and a brother, Ronald E. Strawser.
She retired in 2006 as an Activities Assistant from the Park Village Heath Care Center at Dover where she worked from 1999 until her retirement. She had previously held the same position at Country Club Center in Dover from 1987 until 1999. She enjoyed her work as a volunteer for the Community Hospice Browse-and-Buy and attended the Church of the Brethren at Sugarcreek. She had a delightful habit of finding gifts of need and presenting them to family members without relying on special occasion. Linda loved to go shopping and was fond of spending some idle time engaged in a few games of Bingo. But above all, she cherished the companionship of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Miller, whom she married March 9, 1991, two sons, Kent (Kelli) Lewis of Leesville, OH and Kevin (Gina) Lewis of Hopedale, OH, two daughters, Lauri Adam of New Philadelphia, OH and Mrs. Darla (Tyler) Marchand of Winfield, OH, two sisters, Mrs. Carol Jean (Milton) Burrier of Hillsboro, OH and Sharon Lee (Fiance David) Reed of Clearwater, FLA, five brothers, Gary (Debbie) Strawser of Zanesville, OH, Roger Alan Strawser of New Philadelphia, Fred (Marilyn) Strawser of Sherrodsville, OH, Jeffrey L. (Katrina) Strawser of Weirsdale, FLA, and Lanny (Pat) Strawser of New Cumberland, OH, 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 10, 2023, in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover with her brother Rev. Fred Strawser officiating. There are no calling hours scheduled, but the family will observe a private visitation. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with her arrangements.
