Linda R Booth, age 74, of Bowerston, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, March 22, 2023, in the Sunnyslope Nursing Home at Bowerston following an extended illness.

She was born May 28, 1948, in Massillon, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Glenn) Allan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard E. “Dick” Booth, Jr., who passed away on October 31, 2012.

Linda devoted her life to the teaching profession.  She was primarily a high school English teacher who taught students in the Conotton Valley Union Local School District from 1986 until her retirement in 2014.  Her teaching experience also included high schools at Newcomerstown, Fairless, and Tuscarawas Central Catholic. Her teaching career touched the lives of countless students over the years. She was a 1966 graduate of Fairless High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Malone College in 1970. Linda was fond of traveling, having visited Europe and many points of interest in the US. She attended numerous Broadway Musicals, although “Phantom of the Opera” was her favorite. She was enthusiastic about visiting local festivals like the Atwood Area Fall Festival and Algonquin Mill. One of her very favorite activities was shopping.  With Linda, it was almost an obsession.  She had visited Mall of America, and enjoyed local shopping trips, which often included dinner and a movie with her best friend Judy Walters of Sherrodsville. Once she became a grandmother, the lives and activities of her grandchildren took priority and became her pastime.  She never missed being present for the birth of any of her seven grandchildren.  She faithfully attended as many of their sporting events as possible, and often treated them to visits to amusement parks and other venues. For leisure, Linda enjoyed sitting on the beach, relaxing and reading her books, and spent many hours at the Bowerston Public Library. She was a loving and attentive mother and grandmother who will be missed by her family, friends, and numerous former students.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Wendy (Scott) Vitagliano of Bowerston, Mrs. Ginger (Adam) Gipson of Jacksonville, Florida, and Leslee Booth of Marshallville, OH, and her seven grandchildren, Logan and Garrett Reiter, Abby and Gavin Gipson, Skylar Marshall, and Cooper and Nicholas Vitagliano.
