Linda Sue Swigert, 70, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, following a period of declining health. Born August 16, 1954, in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William James McCamant II and Elsie Loraine (Reeves) McCamant.
On December 15, 1973, Linda married the love of her life, Ronald Lee Swigert, with whom she enjoyed nearly 49 years of marriage until his passing on May 30, 2022. They were blessed with four children, Shannon (Brian) Boitnott of Dayton, Lester (companion, Carlenia) Swigert and Shelley (Chip) Spellman of Dennison, and Lonnie (Andrea) Swigert of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Roger “Buddy” Smith, Josalynn (Shane) Smith, Madison (fiancé, Cody Searls) Swigert, Sierra (companion, Michael) Swigert, Anthony Spellman, Alexandra Swigert, Elaina (Harrison) Wertz, and Olivia Swigert who survived them and Jeffrey Swigert who preceded them in death; and great-grandchildren, Lincoln Smith, Myah Swigert, Colbie Searls, Evelynn Smith, and Kynlee Medley. Linda is also survived by her siblings, Martha Stackhouse, William (Ruby) McCamant III, Ruth (Jeff) Swaney, and David (Becky) McCamant; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lloyd Swigert, Roger and Abby Swigert, and Carla Janusik; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband, and grandson, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and Frank Poole; sister, Cindy Armstrong; sister-in-law, Linda Swigert; brothers-in-law, Daniel Stackhouse and John Janusik; and two nephews.
A lifelong Dennison resident, Linda spent over forty years as a dedicated caregiver at Northview Adult Group Home in Dennison who loved to crochet in her spare time. Above all else, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.
Linda’s funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation at the funeral home is from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
