The Tuscarawas County Board of Disabilities has been celebrating a couple of big achievements.

The first came earlier this month when the state reaccredited the agency for three more years.

Superintendent Nate Kamban says that’s the highest award possible and continues a tradition of excellence in serving area residents with disabilities and their families.

This has been a busy year for the board, which received almost a million dollars in grants to fund improvements around the community. Part of that went toward establishing a technology-powered home in Dover that opened last week.

The agency also used grant money to renovate its starlight school and install universal changing tables in the restrooms at Dover City Park and the Tuscora Park youth center.
