Four local communities received funding through an Ohio Department of Development program.
The Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) program partners with communities to improve housing and provide homeownership and rental assistance.
Tuscarawas County will receive a $700,000 grant to rehabilitate seven owner-occupied homes and repair 12, in collaboration with the City of Dover.
The City of New Philadelphia will be granted $650,000 to rehabilitate nine homes and repair 11, partnering with the City of Uhrichsville.
A grant totaling $400,000 will be awarded to Carroll County to rehabilitate four homes and repair seven.
Coshocton County will rehabilitate five homes and repair 12 in partnership with the City of Coshocton, with the help of a $700,000 grant.
All grants will include a fair housing component.
