Gwen Rummell Reporting –

Despite the village’s small size, a local farmers market has seen major growth over the years.

The Sherrodsville Farmers Market began its fourth season on May 24th and had high community turnout for its first day. The farmers market, located at the park, hosts various vendors and a rotating schedule of food trucks.

Committee member and business owner Ashley McCarthy said she is grateful to have been at the market since the beginning.

“Whenever we started four seasons ago, it was just a few of us and Sarah [Copeland] asked me if I wanted to sell my soap here. If it wasn’t for this market and my wholesale people, I would not have grown the way that I have.”

The market is held on Fridays from 5:30 pm to 8:00 and ends in September. The committee also hopes to schedule its second pop-up holiday market.
