Gwen Rummell Reporting –
The Ohio Department of Education recently released the 2023 Ohio School Report Cards, which rate schools on five components.
New to this year, schools and districts received overall ratings of 1-5 stars in half-star increments. The five components included achievement, progress, gap closing, early literacy, and graduation.
Superintendent John Zucal says Conotton Valley Union Local School District had the highest increase in performance index score in the state.
“We were very excited to find out that we were the top school district in the state of Ohio and we had placed first in our growth in performance index. Which we believe is attributable to the very hard work being done by our students in the classroom and the awesome work of our faculty and staff.”
Conotton Valley had an overall score of 4.5 stars and an impressive graduation rate of 100%.
Other schools to receive high ratings included Tusky Valley with 4.5 stars, Garaway with 4, Indian Valley with 4.5, Dover with 3.5, and Carrollton Exempted Village with 3.5.
