A local family spent last weekend in New York City raising awareness about Down Syndrome.

15-year-old Lylli Bryant, of Dover, was one of 500 people with the condition featured whose photos flashed across the marquee in Times Square Saturday morning.

Her mother Alexis Bryant was grateful for the opportunity to help promote acceptance.

“Inclusion with the kids with Down Syndrome is my big thing and I just want people with Down Syndrome, all ages, all types of disabilities to be accepted.”

The visit was a first for the Bryant’s, who also got to do some sightseeing.

The presentation Lylli was featured in kicked off a one-mile Down Syndrome awareness and fundraising walk around the big apple.
