Lois Ann Sell, age 91, most recently of the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover, and a former Bowerston resident, died Sunday night, July 13, 2025 in the care center after an extended illness.
She was born July 30, 1933 in Leesville, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Ruth Hazel (King) Lightell. Her husband, Williard “Dean” Sell, died in 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons Douglas Ray Sell and Jerry Lynn Sell, a granddaughter, Kristy Lee Sell, two sisters, Mildred Kinsey and Bernice Fanioli, and four brothers, Samuel Lightell, Robert Lightell, Richard Lightell, and Donald Lightell.
She was employed at the former Scio Pottery, where she worked for 30 years until their closing. She also performed babysitting services for 10 years and was employed at Wal-Mart for 14 years. She also enjoyed bowling at the former Alpa Lanes in Uhrichsville and liked to watch television.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Susan “Susie” D. Sell of Carrollton, OH, a sister, Patsy Baer of Leesville, OH, and her four grandchildren Bianca Love and Jeremy (Halli) Sell, both of Gnadenhutten, OH, Samantha L. Mauge of Bowerston, OH, and Jerry Lynn Sell of Clearwater, Florida, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the Longview Cemetery at Bowerston with Rev. Kenneth Ogg officiating. Interment will follow services.
