April 1, 2022, Lois Louise Lamielle McAtee, 76, was lovingly escorted into the presence of the Lord and is now awaiting her glorified body. The two things she longed for most.

Born May 15, 1945, in Canton, Ohio to Evelyn E. (Paschen-Boekel) and Basil Lamielle. Lois was the youngest of four siblings: Arlene, Butch, Bill, and Lois.

Lois was never handed an easy life and worked hard to provide for and raise her three children, Kirk McAtee of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Patti (Ken) Canter of Strasburg, Ohio, and Evy (Todd) Steele (with whom she resided for the past 25 years) of New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Lois loved, adored, and took great pride and great interest in her eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, Melissa (Todd) McKenzie, Jovanni, and Avery Waller. Jacob (Tasha), Brooklyn, Harper, and Sutton Albaugh. Morgan (Jerrin Brindley) McAtee. Meleah McAtee and Zane Frantz. Alexandra (Tyler), Oakley, Bodee, and Murphee Bailey. Chase (Rachel) Steele. Rylie Steele. McCasland Steele. (She truly did love all of you). Others who were very dear to Lois were cousins, Terry, Timmy, and Billie Jane; Bible Buddies, Jean, Mary, Sandy, and Wanda M. Other dear friends include Donna, Ellie, Karen, Kathy, Lee Ellen, and Wanda S. Lois also has numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended families whom she also loved.

Lois never had worldly wealth or riches to give. What Lois was able to give were a Godly example and a Godly foundation. That example and foundation were not always appreciated when her children were younger but are greatly appreciated now. Her children were able to share that fact with Lois recently. Lois made it known in nearly every conversation that she was praying for her friends and family regularly. To you grandchildren, if you wish to honor Grandma, live a goodly, Godly life and pass her legacy on.

Lois was preceded in death by her biological father, her mother and stepfather (Raymond F. Boekel), her siblings, her unborn grandchildren including Journee Bailey, and numerous friends and family with whom she is surely rejoicing today.

Services for Lois will be held on Saturday, April 9th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at 140 S. Bodmer Avenue – Strasburg, Ohio 44680 with viewing beginning at 10 am until the start of services. Pastor Michael
