Louis H. Carl, 85, of Dover passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, in the Community Hospice Truman House.
He was born on August 19, 1937, in Dover and was a son of the late Herbert and Esther Weigand Carl. Louis was also preceded in death by his sister, Roselyn Cunningham.
Louis graduated from Dover St. Joseph High School; he then found employment at Sparta Ceramics in East Sparta. Louis was called to serve his country with the United States Army, following his discharge, he worked for Reeves Steel, having retired after many years of service. Never one to sit still, Louis worked for the Country Club Retirement Center for a few more years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Grace Hyde Carl whom he married on August 22, 1975; son, Timothy (Jill) Hodge of Florida; sisters, Dorothy Carl, Clara (Bud) Mason both of Dover, Jean (Rick) Troyer of Sugarcreek; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth (Felipe) Hodge, Patrick (Amanda) Hodge all of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Per his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
