Lulu Troyer, 99, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Walnut Hills Hursing Home in Walnut Creek.
She was born in Holmes County on May 15, 1924 to the late David and Sarah (Weaver) Schnell and married Ohlen W. Troyer on February 8, 1947. He died on July 15, 2000.
She was a member of Dover Bible Church and was formerly active with the Swiss Wheelers and Golden Recliners Camp Clubs. She enjoyed doing hand crafts, bead work, quilting and sewing and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Rodney Troyer of Mansfield, Royce (Marlene) Troyer, Jody (Don) Hershberger, and Suzette (Ron) Miller all of Sugarcreek; daughter-in-law, Sharon Troyer of Memphis, TN; son-in-law, Dean (Missy) Andrews of Baltic; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Andrews; son, Darrel Troyer; and her three sister, Myra Gerber, Erma Ewert, and Marie Schnell.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Mark Britton officiating. Private family burial will be held in Union Hill Cemetery prior to services. Friends may call on Monday 4-6 PM at the funeral home.
