
On April 11, 1950, Mabel married the love of her life, Clarence E. (Jack) Thornton who survives. She is also survived by her children, Terry (Janice) Thornton of Port Washington, Gary (Shirley) Thornton of Gnadenhutten, Carol (Don) Hoffman of Gnadenhutten, Beverly (Jim) Long of Dennison, Jaynie (John) Norman of Port Washington; grandchildren, Brent Thornton, Diana (Erik) Mariol, Brian Thornton, Jason (Sabrina) Thornton, Jennifer (Kris) Stratton, Michele (Matt) Lieser, Michael (Valerie) Hoffman, Tyler (Alicia) Long, Curtis (Brittney) Long, Blake Norman, Zachary (Stefanie) Norman; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Diana Louise; sisters, Martha (Herb) Doman and Nora (Joe) Saffell; brothers, Charles (Alice) Moffit, Robert (Gloria) Moffit, Homer Moffit and Earnest Moffit; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Orella Thornton; and granddaughter-in-law, Shelly Thornton.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Addy Funeral Home, Newcomerstown with Pastor David Geyer officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation will be on Monday April 10, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm. Order of the Eastern Star service will be on Monday at 4:30 prior to the visitation.
