Madge R. Marazsky, age 84, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar.

Born January 16, 1938, in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Alberta (Johnson) George. Madge graduated from Bentleyville High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from California State Teachers College, California, Pennsylvania, and then her master’s degree in special education from Walsh College in North Canton. She was employed for 20 years as a special education teacher with Dover City Schools, retiring in 1996.

Madge was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was talented and artistic and loved gardening, crocheting, and painting. Madge participated in the Hinges and Twinges class at the Tuscarawas County YMCA and enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife around her home.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Stephanie (Robert) Wasem and Stacie (Eric) Hubbard, both of Dover, Christine (Christopher) Burtch of Grove City, Pennsylvania, and Stanley (Jill) Marazsky of Dennison; her grandchildren, Robby (Jill) Wasem, Rachael (Michael) Hagman, Jacob (Caitie) Wasem, Amos Hubbard, Dr. Abigail (Adam) Albright, Anna, Lily, and Mary Burtch, and James Marazsky; her great-grandchildren, Sutton and Brewer Wasem, Declan and Emery Hagman, James Aaron and Lileigh Hubbard, Mosha and Alberta “Bertie” Albright; her sister, Lynn (Roger) Angelelli; her brothers-in-law, Alex Lese, Richard (Rita) and Ronald (JoAnn) Marazsky; and her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Madge was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Stanley Marazsky, on October 1, 2017; and her sister, Gail Lese.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, May 1, 2 – 4 p.m.; there will be a Christian wake service at 3:45. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 2, at 11 a.m., in Sacred Heart Church, New Philadelphia; Fr. Jeff Coning will officiate. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to Sacred Heart the morning of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery, Dover.
