Mary Alice Reporting –

A $2.8 million project will soon begin and be completed over four phases.

April 15th is the scheduled start date for construction at New Philadelphia’s Harry Clever Field.

Mayor Joel Day says the fully funded project will relocate and reconstruct the taxiway parallel to the main runway.

“The city received a $2.6 million grant from the FAA and a $144,606 matching grant from ODOT Aviation.”

During the construction period, there will be no night flying due to the lights being out.

Local aviators will be notified of closures by the airport manager. Additionally, the annual pancake fundraiser by the EAA Chapter 1077, on May 26th, should not be affected.
