Mary Alice Reporting –

More information was released following a missing person report filing for Steven Bert.

The Sugarcreek Police Department is conducting an investigation that started the week of March 3rd, according to a post by Police Chief Kevin Kaser.

The department received evidence, from an outside agency, to file a complaint with the Tuscarawas County Prosecutor’s Office related to evidence obtained during a March 15th search warrant on Bert’s home and devices that may have been used in a crime. Items were sent to BCI for testing in the ongoing investigation.

Chief Kaser notes that approximately one hour after the search, video shows Bert’s vehicle leaving Sugarcreek’s downtown area. The next morning, family reported the man missing after not being able to contact him and Bert not showing for several commitments.

A few days later, Bert’s vehicle was found in Missouri with no evidence of foul play.

Bert is still unaccounted for and is listed as a missing person, with his well-being a priority. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sugarcreek Police Department at 330-852-2212.
