Margaret Caroline “Peg” Failing, 82, of Dennison, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at New Dawn Retirement Center in Dover. Born September 16, 1941, in Midvale, she was a daughter of the late Willard Leroy “Mose” and Mary Josephine (Reidy) Tidrick.

A 1960 graduate of Midvale High School, Peg lived in Tuscarawas County throughout her life. She will be remembered for taking great care of the members and customers at several area clubs, including the Midvale VFW, Uhrichsville Elks, and Dennison Eagles, where she tended bar over the years. She was a member of the Uhrichsville Elks and a member of the auxiliaries of the Dennison Eagles and Midvale VFW.

On July 2, 1977, she married Melvin Lee Failing with whom she was only able to share 5 years before his passing on August 8, 1982. Peg is survived by her daughter, Kay Lynn (Donald) Troyer, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she loved spending time. They are Bryant Sullivan and his daughter, Kamrynn; Kristina (Justin) Brown and their children, Aubreigh, Kolten, Kenzleigh, Grady, and Savannah; and Evan (companion, Marissa) Troyer and his children, Noah, Aniyah, and Rayleigh. Peg is also survived by her sister, Hazel (Daniel, deceased) Heaton, and her children, Mary, Denise, and Dan.

Rev. Bradley Call will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Monday, October 9, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her late husband in East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Peg’s family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
