Margie Elizabeth (Steinbach) Moore, 91, formerly of Port Washington died late Monday night of March 17, 2025, in The Gardens of Cuyahoga Falls following a period of declining health due to Alzheimer’s Disease
She was born at home in Port Washington on December 11, 1933, to the late Karl and Florence E. Steinbach. Following high school, Margie worked at her parents’ Restaurant/Truck Stop in Port Washington. She became a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, as well crocheting and sewing. She sewed many uniforms for the Indian Valley South majorette and cheerleader squads. Margie was a girl scout leader and a part of the band boosters for many years, holding the position of president for part of this time. She also loved basketball and could predict the winner of Sweet Sixteen in March Madness! She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Washington where she served as treasurer. She later worked as a desk manager at the hotel/truck stop in Newcomerstown, Ohio.
Along with her parents, Margie is also preceded in death by her husband Clyde R. Moore, with whom she spent forty-nine years with before his passing in 2003, two brothers Kenneth Steinbach and Robert Steinbach, and a son-in-law Zahi Kakish.
Surviving are three daughters: Karla (Tim) Williamson of Gnadenhutten, Marlene (Matthew) Hayes of Portland, Oregon, and Janice Kakish of Akron, five grandchildren: Brian Williamson, Dr. Jennifer (Ian) Gordona, Kyle (Marilyn) Hayes, Katie (Colin) Speidel, and Kieran Hayes; and two great-grandsons: James Hayes and Teddy Hayes.
Calling hours for Margie will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with a sharing of memories beginning at 1:00 P.M. held at Koch Funeral Home of Gnadenhutten, 244 N.
