Marian F. Karl, 88, a lifelong resident of Dover died peacefully with her kids by her side on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, following a brief illness.

Marian retired as a longtime employee at Chase and Bank One in Dover.

Born Jan. 21, 1934, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late James and Sybilla (Franz) Fondriest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, John Karl who died Feb. 7, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sister, J. Earl (Mary) Fondriest, Eldon Fondriest, Nadine (Bill) Collins, Jean Fondriest, and Ervin Fondriest.

Marian was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and a lifetime member of the LCBA. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Dover. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her family including her four children, Maureen Karl of Coshocton, Jean (Tom) Marino, and John (Kim) Karl both of Dover and Jim (Tammy) Karl of Newcomerstown; she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a brother, Ron (Sue) Fondriest of Dover and a sister in law, Annalee Fondriest of Canal Fulton.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 beginning at 10 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. (Those attending are asked to go directly to the church.) Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday from 5-7 pm with a Christian Wake service beginning at 7 pm.
