Mariann Pennington, age 80, of New Philadelphia, went to be with her Lord and Savoir on March 9, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Born in Dennison on September 1, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Bruno and Rose (Richards) Menapace.

She was a 1963 graduate from Immaculate Conception High School. She also graduated from Union College of Commerce. Before her retirement she enjoyed her jobs with Sacred Heart Church for 16 years, St. Francis Church of Newcomerstown for 12 years. She also worked for Lauren Manufacturing, State Farm Insurance, and the County Extension office.

Her greatest joy was cooking and baking for her family, especially on birthdays and holidays. In her free time, she enjoyed music. Singing was her passion. She sang in Folk group at Sacred Heart Church, the Immaculate Conception Church Choir, and the Forever Young Singers at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

Mariann was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Mariann had a great faith and loved the Lord. She always had time and love for everyone.

Mariann is survived by her life long sweetheart of 60 years, Terry Pennington; three sons, Brian (Lisha) Pennington of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Jeff (Lisa) Pennington of Hillsborough, New Jersey, and Mike Pennington of Monroeville, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Janice (Bob) Saggio of Columbus, and Cathy Menapace of Dennison; brother, Bill (Debbie) Menapace of Dennison; four grandchildren, Tyler (Danielle) Pennington of North Chesterfield, Virginia, Danielle (Justin) Keefer of Barberton, Joe Pennington of Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania, and Nick Pennington of Chandler Arizonia; four great-grandchildren, Sawyer Keefer, Harper, Charlotte, and Noah Pennington; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Rose Menapace; and infant sister, Frances Menapace.

The family will greet guests on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be led by Fathers Jeff Coning and Ed Keck on Friday, March 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

The family wishes to thank all her doctors and nurses at Cleveland Clinic Hospital and Ohio’s Hospice Truman House for all the loving care they provided.
