Marilyn Mast, 88, of Sugarcreek entered into the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Oak Pointe Nursing home in Baltic.
She was born in South Connellsville, PA on April 21, 1934, to the late James L. and Mollie (Trump) Groh and married Loyal Gene Mast on September 28, 1956. He died on November 7, 1989.
She is retired from Walnut Hills Retirement Home, where she worked as an LPN for many years. She had also worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for various area companies. She attended NewPointe Community Church in Dover.
She is survived by her 2 children, Wesley P. (Edna) Mast and Cindy (Randy “Oats”) Frutig both of Strasburg; 4 grandchildren, Sheila Mast, Jeremy Mast, Clint Mast, and Jewel Stoneking; and 5 great grandchildren, Sebastian Mast, Hunter Pfeister, Elijah Mast, Dylan Stoneking and Darrian Stoneking.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, James Groh, George Groh and Kenneth Groh and a sister, Betty Kisner.
Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek with Pastor Dwight Mason officiating. Family burial will be in the Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 10 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
