Marjorie Anne Losey, 86, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, under the care of Crossroads Hospice at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover. Born July 29, 1935, in Uhrichsville, she was the daughter of the late William Edward and Florence Mae (Romig) West.

In 1952, Marjorie was crowned Miss Clayland, and after her graduation from Uhrichsville H.S. in 1953, she earned her cosmetology certification, preparing her for her career as the owner and operator of Glamourette on Tuscarawas Avenue for seven years. After moving to Arizona with her first husband, Albert Allison, she taught and led music in Child Evangelism for 6 years. She also taught Vietnamese children to speak English. While living in Arizona, she and Albert adopted an infant son and daughter who are Apache Indian, and they later had two of their own. For most of her life, she was a stay-at-home mother. She enjoyed reading and listening to music, as well as singing at local nursing homes and churches. Marjorie was a generous, kind, soft-spoken Christian who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She loved the Lord and her family dearly.

Her surviving family includes her children, Mark Allison, Brad Allison, and Sharon Day; stepchildren, Cindi Lynn (Brian) Lynn, Doug (Melanie) Losey, Bruce (Linda) Losey, and Taunya Vise; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Gerald) Garabrandt; sister-in-law, Mae West; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend of 80 years, Donna Paulson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Allison; second husband, Genebob “Bob” Losey; daughter, Shirrea Allison; brother, Bill West, Jr.; stepson, Mark Lose; and nephews, Wayne West.

Services, officiated by Pastor Rod Phillips, will be held at noon on Tuesday, September 7, at Dennison Foursquare Church. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Dennison Foursquare Church.
