Marlene Deuker, 91, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Oak Point Nursing Home in Baltic following a brief period of declining health.
She was born in Dover on April 14, 1931, to the late Howard A. and Alta E. (Renner) Mast and married Budd C. Deuker on May 21, 1950. He died on March 1, 2010.
She worked at the optometrist office for both Dr. Ralph Miller and J. Mark Kauffman in Sugarcreek until her retirement. She is a member of the Union Hill United Methodist Church in Sugarcreek.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marla (Rodney) Snyder of Baltic and Ginger (Chuck) Elmore of Sugarcreek, five grandchildren, Justin (Danni) Elmore of Baltic, Tanika (John) Hawley of Baltic, Corey (Sarah) Snyder of Baltic, Preston (Erica) Elmore of Sugarcreek and Gabe (Katie) Elmore of Baltic, and 12 great-grandchildren, Delaney and Paisley Elmore, Jace, Avrie and Sawyer Hawley, Landrie, Porter, and Eden Snyder, Peyton, Drew and Riley Elmore and Colton Elmore.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother Dean Mast and her twin great-grandsons, Graham and Brady Elmore.
Services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Union Hill United Methodist Church in Sugarcreek with Pastor Jeff Calkins officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-7 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
