She was a graduate of Dennison High School in 1952, and on May 25, 1952, she married her husband, John A. Gowins, with whom she shared over 54 years of marriage until his passing on July 26, 2006.

Mary Ann was a homemaker who adored taking care of her family. She was a lifelong Twin City resident and was always involved in her children’s activities over the years. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends in a homemakers’ group and had been a volunteer at the Twin City Christian Service Center Food Pantry for many years. Mary Ann was a longtime member of Uhrichsville First Christian Church where she helped make hundreds of boxes for Operation Christmas Child. She will be remembered for her incredible capabilities as a seamstress, in which her legacy lives on in the beautiful prayer quilts and bone pillows she had created. Well into her 80s, she continued to bless others with her creations as she made Alzheimer’s activity lap blankets for donation to a local nursing home. Mary Ann also enjoyed spending many happy hours in her garden.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her late husband, John, as well as her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Kim) Grandison; her son, John (Maribeth) Gowins; grandchildren, Tasha (David) Levengood and Matthew (Kayci) Gowins; and great-grandchildren, Andrew (companion, Jessica Strong) Levengood, Emerson Grace Gowins, and Jonah Matthew Gowins.

As per her wishes, Mary Ann will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Uhrichsville First Christian Church, 125 N.
