Mary Jean Russo, 91, of Dennison, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, after a period of declining health. Born October 15, 1931, in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late John and Lydia (Frankini) Markovich.

A lifelong Twin City resident, Mary was a 1949 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison throughout her life. She worked at Maurer’s Market in Uhrichsville for many years, followed by Hart’s Family Center. In retirement, she worked at Pangrazio’s in Dennison. She loved spending time with her friends from her card clubs and lunch out every Tuesday. Most of all, she treasured the time that she spent with her family whether it was at home – cooking and baking – or going out to hear her son play with his band, Martini and Russo.

On October 28, 1950, Mary wed John J. “Minnie” Russo with whom she enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage until his passing on April 4, 2018. They are survived by three daughters, Pam Green, Paula (Rick) Celestino, and Patty (John) Hunter; a son, John (Beth Burdette) Russo; grandchildren, Mitch (Tawnya) Celestino, Lora (Bobby) Toker, Heather (Rob) Wolfe, and Haley (Josh) McPeek; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sophia, Mia, Skyler, Jet, and Meadow. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Epling; son-in-law, Leonard “Thunder” Green; and granddaughter, Teresa Green.

Father Jeff Coning will officiate a noon memorial service on Friday, November 18, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where her family will receive callers for an hour prior to the service. She will be interred in St. Mary’s Cemetery beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Hospital Twin City Foundation. Her family wish to express their deep gratitude to all of the doctors and staff at Trinity Medical Group and Twin City Hospital for the excellent care she received there.
