Mary Lou (McCune) Huston, 90, of Port Washington died Tuesday afternoon of August 16, 2022, in Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Newcomerstown.

She was born in Gilmore on August 15, 1932, to the late Charles H. and Elizabeth (Dawson) McCune. Mary Lou graduated from Port Washington High School in 1950 and later that year on August 6, she married Harold E. “Hod” Huston, who survives. This year’s anniversary made seventy-two years together.

Also, surviving are three sons: Jeffrey (Mary) Huston of Port Washington, Mark (Kathy) Huston of Port Washington, and Eric (Natalie) Huston of Alliance; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law Jay and Joette Huston, two brothers Charles and Donald McCune, and three sisters Kathleen Heston, RuthAnn Swigert, and Lillian McCune.

Mary Lou enjoyed embroidery, completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and being a member of the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Union-Salem Twp Cemetery in Port Washington with Pastor Hyun Suk Kim officiating the service. Attendants are asked to follow Covid-19 protocols and social distancing at the cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Inc., or the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church.
