Matthew A. Torgler, 33, of New Philadelphia, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in his residence.
A son of Shawn (Byers) Tidrick and Rich Torgler, Matt was born December 13, 1990, at Dover, Ohio.
Matt was a cook in various restaurants, but his greatest joy was fishing. He always found his peace while fishing. He also enjoyed golfing, music and making people laugh with his unique sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughter; parents, Shawn (Mark) Tidrick of Dennison and Rich (Doris) Torgler of New Philadelphia; brother, Steve Byers; sister, Daphne Chek; companion, Brittany Rees and her daughters; nieces and nephews, Kiana, Kian, and Gabriella Byers; aunts, Cheryl Miller, Shelly Burkhart, and Lori Mahaney; uncle, Scott Byers; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Matt’s life will be held at 12:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Shelly Nordine officiating.
