Ohio Department of Transportation officials say traffic at the McCauley Drive – U.S. 250 intersection in Uhrichsville will be back to normal starting this weekend.
District 11 Public Information Officer Laurel Borell called it an exciting update for motorists who have dealt with traffic entanglements for weeks.
“Starting Friday night, the contractor is going to be removing the concrete barricades in the center of the intersection and by Saturday morning folks driving through there are going to see the intersection back to normal.”
Borell says the project is ahead of schedule.
“This was originally anticipated to take about three weeks to complete but they were able to complete the work one week in advance.”
Work will continue at the intersection, but Borell says the traffic impact will be minimal.
“We will not see any more traffic restrictions on US Route 250. There will be a width restriction of 11 foot but there will be no lane restrictions. The road will be open as normal.”
The scheduled completion date is October 31st. Borell thanked drivers for their patience
In other traffic news, U.S. 36 through Port Washington is now open, four days ahead of schedule. ODOT had closed the road on July 28th for a culvert replacement project.
