Melody L. Fisher, 76, of Dover passed away at Park Village Health Care Center of Dover on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

Born on September 16, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Grayce (Whalen) Lovell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Barbara Lovell, and sister, Pat Rotruck.

Melody was a graduate of Dover High School with the class of 1965. She worked as a surgery secretary at Union Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Dover, the Christian Mothers, and the Dover Eagles. Melody enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, and listening to country music, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She married Charles “Ted” Fisher, who survives. She also leaves behind her daughter; Connie Sommers of Dover; sister, Dena (Rusty) Bonnell of New Philadelphia; brother, Tony Abbuhl of Dover; her grandchildren, James Marini of Dover, and Nathan Marini of New Philadelphia; great-grandson, Vincent James Marini of New Philadelphia; step-son, Mark (Rachel) Fisher of Canton; step-grandchildren, Journey, Arlen, Janelle, and Arianna Fisher.

A funeral service will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 11:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Friends can call one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dover. A meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center following the service.
