Michael Allen Rainsburg, age 70, was born in Dover, Ohio on June 23, 1953, and died on June 17, 2024, in the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center at Canton, Ohio. He was a resident of the Somerdale area. He was the son of the late Clarence and Freida (Sprankle) Rainsburg, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his very good friend Terry Locker.
He is survived by a brother Clarence (Margarita) Rainsburg, Jr. of Florida, and a nephew Clarence Rainsburg III, the “children that he never had” niece Christal L. Foley of New Philadelphia, OH (fiancé Logan Domer), and nephew Jaimie Huebner, Jr. of Sugarcreek, OH, niece Mrs. Monica A. (Scott) Davis, great-nieces Madalyn Marie Davis, Hailey Domer, and Louella Domer, great-nephews Shane Rainsburg and Preston Scott Davis, and his close friends whom he always considered family The Locker Family of the Somerdale area, including Kim, Jack, Kevin, and Roy, The Miller Family of the New Cumberland area, including Todd, Carol, and Steve Miller, and Josh Boss of New Cumberland.
Michael was retired from their family-owned business MG Steel Company in Somerdale and performed general repairs and light maintenance on automobiles. A graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School, Michael was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR. His two favorite drivers were Dale Earnhart Sr. and Dale Earnhart, Jr. He was also a devotee of NHRA Drag Racing and his all-time favorite driver was Big Daddy Don Garlits.
Mike had the opportunity to travel to Columbia, South America, and numerous states within his own country. He will be missed by his remaining family and his many friends.
Public graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the New Cumberland Cemetery with Rev. Lucille Domer officiating. No public calling hours will be observed. Out of respect for Michael’s wishes, there will be no calling hours observed. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
