Michael Anthony “Tony” Taylor, 66, of Dennison, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison. Born November 5, 1957 in Dover, he was a son of the late John and Jacqueline Jean “Jackie” (Dunlap) Marty.
After his 1976 graduation from Indian Valley North High School, Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He returned home to a long career as a truckdriver. He was still driving for K.A.G. with whom he had been employed for over 33 years. Tony was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching racing and all sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Ohio State Football. Most of all, he loved being with his family and took great pride in his grandchildren – faithfully attending their school and sporting events every chance he got.
On April 1, 1978, Tony married Rhonda Marie (Brick) Taylor who survives him along with their son, Josh (Julie) Taylor; daughter, Amanda (companion, Jimmy Smith) McDonald; grandchildren, Landon Dowdle, Ryder Taylor, Trevor (Jamie) Dykes, Travis (Cassidy) McDonald, Trenton (Jillian) McDonald, Bailey (Taylor) Gavorcik, Hayden, Spencer and Izabella McDonald, and Logan and Brooke Smith; great-granddaughters, Daisy and Vivian Gavorcik; mother-in-law, Carol Brick; a number of nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Reggie Jenkins, Daryl and Marla Baker, and George and Rita Prosser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John McDonald, and brother, Roger Taylor.
A 4:00 p.m. funeral will be held on Sunday, June 2, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Tony’s family will receive callers at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service. In keeping with Tony’s love of all things sports related, those who attend are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s athletic wear.
