Michael Eugene Akers, age 69, of Uhrichsville, passed away February 28, 2023, at Community Hospice Truman House, following a lengthy illness.

Born May 13, 1953, In Gnadenhutten, Michael is the son of the late Paskal L. “Pat” Akers Sr. and Hester A. (Long) Akers.

In 1972, Michael graduated from Indian Valley South High School.  He was employed as a laborer at several area businesses.  He attended Broadway Global Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.  Michael enjoyed golfing, painting outdoor scenes and he was a member of the NRA.

On March 31, 1989, Michael married Cynthia J. Taylor, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are their children James I. Akers, Michelle (Ronald) Kirkpatrick, Chris (Tiffany) Akers, Dustin (Elaina) Howell and Jacob (Natasha) Akers; grandchildren Corey Beckett, Haylee Beckett, Blake Akers, Brityn Kirkpatrick, Carson Akers, Kullin Akers, Jensen Howell, Mia Akers and Lyla Howell.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by a brother Paskal L. Akers Jr.

Funeral services for Michael will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with the Pastor Harley Wheeler officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville.

Calling hours will be from 5-7 on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the funeral home.
