Michael Eugene Reifenschneider, 47, of New Philadelphia, passed away in the care of Wellspring Hospice on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Sprenger Healthcare of Massillon, after a brief period of declining health, suffering from mental illness along with dementia.
Born July 22, 1974, in Dover, Ohio, he was adopted by Mike and Karen Reifenschneider on July 3, 1976. Although his mother, Karen, preceded him in death on July 19, 2013, he is survived by his father, Mike. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Earl; aunt and uncle, Kay and Tom LaPorte; many cousins; and a host of friends.
Michael was a 1995 graduate of Claymont High School and was well known in the Twin City area for his outgoing nature. He loved music and was a DJ at the former Claymont Community Center for a number of years.
Cremation is planned without a public visitation or service, and he will be interred with his beloved mother in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite hospice organization.
